Fisheries and Oceans Canada wishes to advise the public to exercise caution when boating April 16 through June 10, 2018 on LaHave River.
On the water:
Scientific equipment, including a rotary screw trap (or smolt wheel) attached to an overhead cable, will be operating in LaHave River to catch Atlantic salmon smolts for assessment purposes. This equipment is identified by warning signs and safety markers. Boaters are advised to watch for the equipment and markers at the below location, especially at night or during conditions that reduce visibility, and to stay clear of the equipment:
LaHave River – Cemetery Pool about 130m below New Germany Lake
Lat. 44°32’48.2”N, Long. 64°43’48.7”W
The rotary screw trap will be in the river from April 16 to June 10, 2018.
