The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg –
We Want To Gather Your Feedback, Before Making Any Decision On The Development Of A Local Coastal Policy
One of the initial actions identified in the Municipality’s 2013 Climate Change Action Plan was the development of a local coastal policy. In Council’s consideration: the first phase in the development of any policy is to consult with residents and landowner along the coast and gather their feedback on what policy options may be pursued. Local residents may recall that the Province initiated some discussion on coastal management issues in 2011 – the Municipality is interest in hearing form citizens on how the local government may become involved.
Municipal planning staff is working with staff from Bluenose Coastal Action Foundation and will hosting four meetings in late June/ early July.
All found meeting will start with a short presentation at 7:00 PM., followed by an ‘open-house’ to review related mapping information and to fill out specific feedback forms.
Public feedback will be gathered and presented back to Municipal Council, before there is any determination of any further action or policy development to be taken.
