The Department produces a Recreation Guide featuring Programs and Special Events for each season and this is distributed to each household in the Municipality. Missed your copy? Call into our office to pick one up or download this season’s pdf Recreation Guide (13.41 MB) .
The Guide offers ideas of what you can do to get out and about in the respective season, highlighting some of our parks and trails. The programming we offer caters to young and old – physical activities, bus trips, creative activities and family fun!

But we don’t stop with what’s in the book…
Is there something you’d like to see offered in your community, or do you have an idea of something you’d like to do and have seven friends to do it with? Just give us a call, and we’ll do our best to make the program happen where and when you want it!
In the past we have tailor-made programming for small groups - guided snow-shoe hikes, dance classes and art classes for example.
Rec @ Home
One good thing to come out of Covid-19 is our development of a Recreation at Home program, where participants can join in to virtual programs, like yoga or zumba, in the comfort of their own four walls. To access and keep up to date with our virtual programs please follow our Facebook page.
Participation for all!
In an effort to ensure Recreation is accessible to everyone, we aim to provide the support so that people can participate in recreation at home, in our open-spaces, trails, parks and programs, regardless of limitations. Please don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss how we can help you!
