Volunteers are the heart of the community, something the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg fully understands.

The Municipality hosts an annual Volunteer Recognition Ceremony to officially say thank you to our volunteers for making our communities a better place to live, work and play.

At this ceremony, individuals who have been nominated by their communities are recognized by the Municipality. We also celebrate those individuals who have been nominated for a Provincial Volunteer Award.

Each year the Municipality puts a call out to organizations and the community to nominate an individual who they feel deserves to receive this Provincial recognition. From the nominations, the Municipality is left with the difficult task of selecting one volunteer to represent all the volunteers in the Municipality at the Provincial Award Ceremony held in Halifax.

Please note the following deadlines:

January 29, 2021 - Deadline to Submit for Provincial Nominations

April 1, 2021 - Deadline to Submit for Municipal Nominations

April 18-24, 2021  - Volunteer Week – Municipal Reception to be held during this week

If you would like to nominate a volunteer to the Municipality for consideration for either category, please fill out the form below. All volunteers nominated will be recognized at the Municipal Volunteer Reception. This is a great way to recognize volunteers.
